Project Q2 • NMR-Methods for the Characterization of Polymers

NMR methods will be developed that focus on dynamic and transient processes in high precision polymers. Investigations of chromatographic separation, diffusion phenomena and reaction progress are planned in the case of soluble 1D and 2D polymers using also the aspect of chemical structure of the polymers. For the 3D polymer networks, the focus is on the characterization of diffusion of guest molecules and ions. Methodic issues are the fluid phase coupling for online analysis of chromatographically separated polymer solutions and pulsed field gradient NMR with novel high-speed NMR-sequences.
